Fu for Thought

We are Devan-less this week but Cyrus and I hold the fort down pretty well (I think) as we discuss 1986's insane horror/action hybrid, The Seventh Curse.

We ask. "What happened to Jessica Biel?", talk about curses and firmly state that you should never ask "Why?" when it comes to this movie. 

Later on, we ask some pretty taxing listener questions. We bring up Robert De Niro, our questionable opinions and I talk about why I want to be She-Hulk's sidekick.

It's SPOOOOOKY season so here is the first of our supernatural episodes! Will Cyrus and Devan enjoy the hijinks of Mr. Vampire?

I tell my co-hosts just how great Moon Lee is, Devan asks whether a ghost can be a succubus and Cyrus reveals that he actually laughed out loud in this one!

It's Shawtember, baby! This week heading back to the land of Chang Cheh and the Venom Mob as we talking 1978's Crippled Avengers.

Listen as we try desperately to sidestep the political incorrectness of Chiang Sheng's character's ailment. We ask "What do those rings on those swords do?" and Devan reveals that she doesn't care for the Venoms' empty handed fight scenes. Pure blasphemy.

In this week's episode, Cyrus, Devan and I not only discuss the 1979 shapes classic, Monkey Kung Fu (NOT Mad Monkey Kung Fu), but I ask them the very philosophical question, "Do you actually like kung fu movies?" After 84 episodes, I want to know whether they'd actually consider themselves a fan of the genre. I also ask whether they truly understand the magic of an old school fight scene. We get deep!

This week we tackle our first Wu Jing film and what was once the highest grossing movie in Chinese history.

We discuss the "country" of Africa, ask "Just how racist is this film?" and ponder the career of Frank Grillo and just how often he's been a good guy.
I express my theory about how this movie should have been made in 1988, Cyrus slips into Randy Savage mode to accept a Street Fighter 6 challenge and Devan confesses to enjoying what might be a universally shitty candy.
