Well ladies and gents, this episode is certainly interesting. Let's just say a certain someone has very strong opinions on this film. Do they like it? Hate it? Give it a listen to find out! We actually have three very different attitudes towards The City of Violence.

Police Story III aka Supercop

We're back on the Chan train this week as discuss the Jackie Chan film Quentin Tarantino's loves above all, Supercop.

Devan asks "What is a Supercop?", I use the word "skirmish" and Cyrus reveals a deep dark secret about his underwear situation.

Chocolate

We're down to two this week as me and Devan once again dip our toes into Thai cinema. Join us as we ask, "Is this film respectful to Austism?" and question whether the film loses something by not having the Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee footage.

It's definitely a more subdued episode but we have a really good chat about the film. We also answer some listener questions and discuss how Devan is getting ever closer to being a "producer."

This episode, we tackle Jet Li's homage to Nu Metal, The One. There's a LOT to talk about when it comes to this film and we try to address it all. To Jason Statham's American accent and hairline to the science behind future guns to Carla Gugino's "mouse shoe."

Monkey Kung Fu

In this week's episode, Cyrus, Devan and I not only discuss the 1979 shapes classic, Monkey Kung Fu (NOT Mad Monkey Kung Fu), but I ask them the very philosophical question, "Do you actually like kung fu movies?" After 84 episodes, I want to know whether they'd actually consider themselves a fan of the genre. I also ask whether they truly understand the magic of an old school fight scene. We get deep!

Later on, we answer listener questions that include a Tom Cruise discussion, some butt talk and the perils of getting old. Enjoy!

Wolf Warrior 2

This week we tackle our first Wu Jing film and what was once the highest grossing movie in Chinese history.

We discuss the "country" of Africa, ask "Just how racist is this film?" and ponder the career of Frank Grillo and just how often he's been a good guy.
I express my theory about how this movie should have been made in 1988, Cyrus slips into Randy Savage mode to accept a Street Fighter 6 challenge and Devan confesses to enjoying what might be a universally shitty candy.

Dragon (Wu Xia)

This week, the crew is all back together and we discuss Donnie Yen's light-on-fights but heavy-on-style movie, Dragon (also known as Wu Xia). We go on LOTS of tangents on this one after we discover that this film doesn't really have that many talking points.

Later, we answer listener questions. play "Fresh or Trash" (it's sweeping the nation!) and Cyrus tells us how he would buy cocaine, if he really needed to. Enjoy!

Bonus Episode - The Sadness

Strap yourselves in, it's going to be a wild one. This week we take a break from martial arts and Cyrus and I tackle the 2021 Taiwanese horror movie, The Sadness.

We talk about the amusing reason why Devan isn't on the episode, whether a film can be both gory and deep and we throw around theories regarding how the movie ends.

We also play a fun "Fresh or Trash" game I made up (stole from a You Tube video) and, right at the end of the episode, Devan joins me to give us a little insight as to why she couldn't stomach the film.

The Super Inframan

Unfortunately, this week's episode begins with technical issues so we lose our intro. But that's ok! You come in on us talking about Uncharted and then, from that point, everything's smooth sailing.

In this episode we discuss the very Power Rangers-ish The Super Inframan. We do our best to explain the science behind Inframan (which is impossible), we discuss our favorite monsters and we get utterly baffled by the first 60 seconds of the film.

Bonus Episode - Martial Arts Film Freak

On this bonus episode, I chat it up with Tristan aka Martial Arts Film Freak about all things martial arts cinema. I ask him about his introduction to the genre, his preferred style of fight choreography and we discuss how modern action cinema is finally doing things right. And a lot more.

As always, I talk too much, but it's a really fun conversation. It's always nice to sit down with a fellow genre fan.
